Your Investment In Therapy

This is a deliberately structured practice. A small caseload, a defined niche, and a standard of ongoing clinical development that goes well beyond registration requirements.

The fees below reflect that standard of care.

I am currently accepting funding through Medicare, Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

Medicare Guide.

I am a registered provider with Medicare and provide psychological services under the Better Access Initiative. Patients with a Mental Health Care Plan can claim a Medicare rebate of $145.25 per individual session for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.

Following your session I submit the claim to Medicare directly. Your rebate is deposited into your nominated bank account, typically within 24 hours.

See your doctor.

Book an extended appointment so your doctor has time to complete your Mental Health Care Plan. They can email it directly to me or provide you with a physical copy to bring to your first session.

FAQs

Am I ready for this?

You don't need to be in crisis to belong here.

  • I offer a variety of therapy services including individual therapy, couples therapy, and perinatal support.

  • I am available from Tuesday to Saturday with a variety of hours available for sessions including evening appointments.

  • This kind of work takes time. Therapy done with care, respect, and real attunement is often slow, because it honours the complexity of what you’ve lived through.

The ten sessions rebated by Medicare gives us about eight hours together. For some patients it can take that long just to name what’s really going on, and that is completely okay.

I work best with people who are willing to be patient with their own process, and who want therapy that invites lasting, not rushed, change.

  • Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance to avoid any charges.

Cancellations after 24 hours incur a $150.00 fee

  • You are welcome to see me without a referral, however a referral is required if you want to claim a Medicare rebate for any of our sessions

I am registered with Medicare as a provider of psychology services under the Better Access to Mental Health Care Initiative. This allows clients to claim a Medicare rebate for sessions, provided they have a current referral and Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) from their GP or psychiatrist. The current rebate per session in consult rooms is $145.25, and $169.95 for consultations held outside of consulting rooms.

Rebates may also be available through private health insurance, either as an alternative to Medicare or once your Medicare-covered sessions have been used.

  • My standard consultation fee for individual therapy is $280.00. With a current MHCP you are eligible for a rebate of $145.25, making the out of pocket cost $134.75.

  • In general, all information disclosed in our sessions is confidential.

There are exceptions to this rule. The first exception is if you are at risk of harm to yourself or someone else. The second exception is in relation to court orders (i.e., subpoena). The final exception applies to mandatory reporting of child abuse and varies by state:

QLD: Psychologists are mandatory reporters for children under 18 if they believe a child is at risk of harm.

NSW: Psychologists are not automatically mandatory reporters, but they are required to report if they form a belief on reasonable grounds that a child is at risk of significant harm.

If either of these situations become relevant, I will discuss this with you immediately.
